Are you sick and tired of being sick and tired?

Our practice is currently registering patients for enrollment into this unique study which features a new treatment for fibroid tumors. Fibroids can cause a variety of problems such as heavy bleeding and pain and often a hysterectomy is recommended for treatment. In some cases this may be appropriate but the vast majority of women can achieve successful treatment of their fibroid symptoms from either a conservative medical or surgical treatment.

For patients that have failed medical treatment the Acessa procedure offers an same day quick recovery fibroid treatment option. In this procedure small incisions are used to introduce instruments to deliver energy directly to the fibroid allowing sparing of the surrounding tissue.  This procedure also employs the use of ultrasound during the procedure allowing the a true visualization and treatment of all fibroids.  Patients are typically sent home the same day.

We do offer this procedure for patients who are interested in a minimally invasive option to control fibroids.  We are also participating in a clinical trial regarding this procedure as well for interested patients.

The ULTRA study is currently being conducted by UC Davis Health System. Our practice is currently performing these procedures in Houston and our patients are eligible to register for participation in this study. Patient participants are paid a small fee for their participation.
