Here’s what our patient’s have to say about the benefits of the Integrative Health Pathways Program and the changes that they have made while participating:

I just wanted to let you know that I've started on my yoga practice. Sun salutations in the morning have been fantastic, and I've also been using the app to meditate before sleep. IHP Group Participant

I completed all 3 of the yoga recommendations you assigned me. I even took it a step farther and started doing the sun salutations after watching the video 3 times. And also started doing some research into kundalini and watched videos of it to compare to other yoga types. :) IHP Group Participant

I did notice an increase in energy and had better mood stability with more of a level head. IHP Group Participant

I have been working on being more intentional these past couple of weeks. Overall, my water intake has increased because I set a reminder on my phone. I have included more plant based meals into my diet. I'm practicing Vinyasa flow and meditation at least twice a week. Also, starting Monday I'm cutting out sugar, dairy, and alcohol for at least 7 days. IHP Group Participant

This is a shared medical visit only for established patients. You do need to have had a visit with our office within the past year to participate. Dr. Kourtney is the chief facilitator of this group. If you have insurance typically group visits are covered by insurance similar to an individual visit. If you are a self pay patient we do offer self pay rates for this type of group visit if you are an established patient.

This month’s group is all about the best way to detoxify your body based on Ayurvedic principles. Using these techniques it allows you to target things to increase and avoid based on your own individual body composition. During this month’s group visit we will focus on positive affirmations, mindfulness, communication, mindful speech, and emotional intelligence.

This shared medical group visit will include a guided meditation, group discussion of insights on previously assigned work, review of recipes as well as independent assignments that patients can use after the visit to help them work on their mind-body connection.

During this group visit we will review the following exercises:

  • The Four-Step Non-Violent Communication (NVC) Process NVC involves both mindful awareness and compassion towards us and others. Rather than reacting in habitual, automatic ways, NVC helps us speak firmly based on an awareness of our perceptions, feelings, and wants. When we interact with others and focus on clarifying what is being observed, felt, and needed rather than on diagnosing and judging, we can increase compassion.

  • Reframing “faux feelings” —Although grammatically correct, none of the following sentences expresses feelings: “I feel hassled,” “I feel insulted,” and “I feel criticized.” These are faux feelings, that is, thoughts masquerading as feelings. Helping patients learn to separate the judgment and mental interpretation of a faux feeling from the true feeling is an important skill. When patients learn to master this skill, there is less room for blaming others and more room for finding solution, self-awareness, and growth.

Any patient that is currently sharing a lifestyle/dietary journal as part of their treatment plan will also have that reviewed as well as part of this visit. You must be an established patient to participate in this monthly support group. Group visits are typically covered by insurance depending on your medical history and diagnosis. If you would like our office to verify your benefits for this service please submit a service request for verification of benefits for the IHP group online to our support desk here.
